What is Spend a Day?
The Spend a Day program is great for anyone who is considering attending Assiniboine Community College and wants a more in depth look at college life and classes. You will Spend a Day with a student host from the program you are interested in. During your Spend a Day you will have the opportunity to:
- PARTICIPATE in actual classroom activities - lectures, labs and other “hands on” learning experiences
- FAMILIARIZE yourself with college life and all of the exciting activities
- EXPLORE all of the great services that ACC has to offer
- MEET the knowledgeable and caring instructors
- DISCOVER the exciting career opportunities available
When can I Spend A Day?
You can Spend a Day at ACC anytime between November and March. You choose a day that you would like to Spend a Day and we will try to accommodate you. However, because we want you to have the best experience possible at ACC, we may have to coordinate your visit with program activities. We need two weeks notice to be able to coordinate your Spend a Day.
What will my Spend a Day be like?
You will arrive at ACC at the designated meeting place, where you will meet up with your host student. We will provide you with a parking spot at the college for the entire day if you need one. You will attend classes with your host student and will take part in classroom activities and discussions. You will meet with instructors as well as talk with your host student and other students in the classroom about the program and what it’s like to be a college student. ACC will provide you and your host student with a lunch at the college’s cafeteria. After you attend afternoon classes your host student will escort you to Student Services where you will meet with a Student Advisor to discuss any other questions you may have about the program and the college.
How much does it cost to Spend a Day?
Absolutely nothing! Parking is free and ACC will provide lunch for you and your student host (Victoria Ave. East Campus only).

What if I need to cancel my Spend a Day?
If for any reason you are unable to attend your scheduled Spend a Day, please contact the Recruitment Office at 800.862.6307 ext. 6689 or email spendaday@assiniboine.net as soon as possible. Several offices will need to be notified if you are unable to attend your arranged Spend a Day.
